Pear OS has failed to excite us on each occasion that we’ve tried it, with boot issues, graphical issues, performance issues and much more affecting the somewhat promising French Linux distro. Pear OS 8 is another stab at the Apple inspired distro, and the first beta for it is out now for, hopefully extensive, testing. The Pear OS 8 Beta comes with a small list of updated, Pear specific software such as My Pear 6, Clean My Pear 2, Pear Cloud, Pear PPA Manager 3, Pear Security, Pear Contacts, and Pear System Info. It’s based on Ubuntu 13.04, and comes with Linux Kernel 3.8.0. You can grab the ISO from the Pear website, but be warned, there are already some login issues that have had to be fixed. Pear Cloud is a new feature in Pear OS 8. You can save your files and data on the Pear cloud server right away from this application.
