I don't think it was promoted properly. Ubuntu stated that they have 20 million users. So if they all donated $1 and then add that to the 12 million that they raised they would have surpassed the goal. Not enough people knew about it.

Also the fact that they said beforehand that Ubuntu Touch will come to android was a mistake. People then thought, why buy the edge if i have a phone capable of running the same system.

Yeah, it had potential. However i still think Ubuntu Touch will be a great success!

I still think it will do well. There will be a few manufactures who will use Ubuntu Touch on some of their phones, maybe huawei and zte.
