I have 4 laptop computers with SD Card Reader problems: 1. I installed 64-bit Ubuntu Linux on my Gateway NE56R41u laptop. It recognizes and mounts the SD card when it installs but will not find or mount it now. It recognizes some usb SD card readers but not others:
A. SIYOTEAM Model SYM83 - mounts B. Micro S USB 2.0 - mounts C. All in one Mini Multi in On Memory Card Reader - mounts
2. I installed 32-bit Ubuntu Linux on a Dell Latitude D510 laptop.
A. A. SIYOTEAM Model SYM83 - does not mount B. Micro S USB 2.0 - does not mount C. All in one Mini Multi in On Memory Card Reader - mounts D. Acer 4-in-1 PCMIA SD Card Reader - does not mount
I have installed 32-bit Linux Mint on a Dell Latitude D510 laptop
A. A. SIYOTEAM Model SYM83 - does not mount B. Micro S USB 2.0 - does not mount C. All in one Mini Multi in On Memory Card Reader - mounts D. Acer 4-in-1 PCMIA SD Card Reader - does not mount
4. I have installed 32-bit Linux Lite on a Dell Latitude C600 laptop
A. A. SIYOTEAM Model SYM83 - does not mount B. Micro S USB 2.0 - does not mount C. All in one Mini Multi in On Memory Card Reader - mounts Is this related to the Linux Kernel itself? I cannot get drivers to work with these devices.
I found that my 32gb SD card was not formatted. I used my camera to format the card and now the SD card reader in the Gateway NE56R41u laptop works fine. The SIYIOTEAM and Micro S readers may be having a problem with the Micro SD card itself...
