I'd like to hear people's views on this. Android laptops only cost around $120 which is far lower than a windows machine or a macbook. They are also much more compact than windows laptop.
Do you think it will make it in the desktop market? Or will it need to make a completely new Android Desktop OS?

I think it has the potential. Lots of hype around android, and that price will hugely attract people, particularly in today's climate.

Good Idea, particularly when Dell have very high priced Ubuntu Laptops.

I think it's safe to assume that all Android apps/ Games etc will run on these which would be the make or break bottom line in my opinion. Considering that the majority of smart phones world wide run on Android the "learning Curve" has been virtually eliminated giving it a huge plus. In a day and age where people just want it to work and work right, I think these machines with the proper ad campaigns and promotions could really change the laptop market... I'd definitely buy one

I have very successfully installed Android 4.0 on my Asus EEE PC 1005HAB. Intel Atom N270 1.6Ghz 1Gig DDR2 80Gig Hdd Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 The setup was seemless and fast, very fast... wireless and ethernet worked right away with no issues as do the Fn features. The image was obtained from www.android-x86.org/ using their Android-4.0x86 RC2 iso. You can read more about it here and my experiences with it thus far.
